The Problem
Our client approached us seeking to build a platform that connected student athletes with university coaches to help them get recruited onto league-level programs. The platform needed to contain coach contact information for all NCAA and NAIA universities and their sports. It also needed to be user-friendly in order to create a stress-free experience for students looking to further their athletic careers.
Our Solution
We built a web app system that satisfied our client’s requirements, along with a simple static website for marketing purposes. The recruitment platform follows proper usability principles and allows students to conveniently submit contact requests to their preferred coaches. Additionally, we built an admin portal that enables our client to take over student accounts and manage university information.
What We Did
We built a student portal with a user-friendly onboarding process where they can input their preferred sports, athletic achievements, academic level, and personal stats like their height and weight.
When a student comes across a coach they’d like to contact, they can simply click a button and a pre-written email is automatically sent to their inbox. Once the coach has opened the email, students are notified that they have read their request.
One of the biggest challenges of this platform was collecting, cleaning, and processing coach data. In total, we collected over 57,000 rows of coach contact information across more than 1,000 universities with athletic programs. This data is essential for the running of this platform.
