The Problem
A music industry professional was having a difficult time finding local musicians for live concerts and shows. The client was looking for an easier way to find local, talented musicians with strong followings for their venues.
The client had an idea, “what if there was a website that linked promoters, booking agents, and venue owners with bands, solo musicians, and other local acts. They needed a bespoke website developed that would act somewhat like a dating website but for musicians and promoters.
It wouldn’t be just any bespoke website, it had to be one that allowed the artists to integrate their social media pages and profiles. It also needed to allow them to choose their hometowns and locations that they would be willing to offer performances. Additionally, it would need to also have a secondary portal for venue owners, promoters, and booking agents. On this secondary portal, the agents, owners, and promoters would be able to review the acts that were local to their areas.
They had an idea, now they just needed to make it.
Our Solution
After using the Idea Maker website development process to fully understand the needs and wants of the Open Acts bespoke website development project, we began work on their website that would help promoters and musicians find each other.
Idea Maker’s professional web development team began work on the bespoke website project using Linux, Nginx, Django, Gunicorn, React, JavaScript, and JQuery. We chose this build for their custom website development project because we wanted to create a user friendly, fast-loading website for their clients.
The bespoke website developed by Idea Maker allowed for both artist and promoter profile creation. When promoters, venue owners, or booking agents logged in to the website, they would be able to search for local acts in their area by using their zip code.
With Idea Maker’s help, the client’s dreams were made into a reality.
What We Did
Venue owners, booking agents, and promoters using this bespoke website are able to create a profile for their businesses and log in. Using zip codes they can find a local artist for their concerts or events.
Idea Maker created, as part of this bespoke website project, an artist portal to help locally renowned artists to advertise their presence to local promoters. In this portal’s profile section, artists have the opportunity to give details about their musical genre and performance style. These profiles are searchable by zip code for those promoters linked to the website.
