The Problem
In an ever-growing digital world, we are discovering as a society that online course platforms are more convenient for many people. Building an easily accessed eLearning platform for instructors to educate students worldwide has been a struggle for many who don’t have in-depth technical experience and understanding. TruAcademy partnered with IdeaMaker to create a cohesive online course program to host classes for any topic.
Identifying the Problem
When teachers wanted to create an online course, they’d need to make do with tools ill-suited to the task, like private youtube links and discord servers. These routes are inconsistent in the quality of service and hard to work through without additional technical knowledge.
TruAcademy wanted to create an easy-to-use program that would allow instructors to put together their classes in a way that automated much of the process, leaving them to help students learn better. They also needed something that students could purchase for single-session classes and multi-session classes and could enroll multiple students per course. The user interfaces for students and teachers needed to be consistent and easy to use class after class.
Collaboration to Design an Online Course Platform
Listening closely to discussions about wants, needs, and goals for the program, the team at TruAcademy partnered with the Orange County tech company, IdeaMaker, to brainstorm and create a product that solved all of the issues and prepared for future growth. Working in close partnership with the client lets IdeaMaker ensure the final product is precisely what the client needs, even when they don’t know exactly what they want.
Our Solution
IdeaMaker suggested creating a branded and user-friendly online learning platform that checked all the boxes and provided the client’s flexibility for future growth. The program told was a comprehensive Software as a Service (SaaS) and ran through subscriptions or purchases of individual courses.
IdeaMaker creates similar programs for many clients and has honed a tried and true development and design process that pushes limits and exceed expectations. Our teams of dedicated programmers have a strong instinct for business as well as program development.
What We Did
Because each instructor has their preferences and branding, TuAcademy wanted to customize the homepage the students would see when they participated in classes. IdeaMaker made this option viable and increased the function of the TruAcadmy platform.
Offering the programs as a SaaS gave TruAcademy the option to host multiple “schools” and organizations for courses. Many teachers can run their classes simultaneously through this program, stream videos, live lectures, and many other education options to ensure the highest level of education.
By offering the option for many teachers and even more students to use the SaaS simultaneously, Tru Academy can run many different programs and offer the best options for the client’s customers. Each instructor can set up their class to host as many students as they are comfortable with and manage their curriculum and participation.
In the initial consult, a topic of conversation was able to set up an effective billing and revenue tracking system within the program. By incorporating this feature into the program, we were able to simplify both payments for students and instructors and accounting for TruAcademy.
